This photo has gone massively viral in only six days with over 1 million likes and counting.
The photo is striking as we have a tall young man holding the hand of a little old lady. But it’s the backstory to the photo which is really special. These two individuals are actually two total strangers that happened to meet by chance one day, and have since formed a friendship.
The young man describes the encounter which occurred a few months ago:
“Couple of months ago, an elderly lady asked me to walk her home because she was scared she was going to slip on the ice. We’ve become friends and now I walk her home almost everyday.”
While we constantly see all the hatred and stupidity promoted all over the media landscape, it’s photos and backstories like this one that really gives you true hope for humanity! We need to highlight more stories like this one, instead of all the negative stories that the media loves to cover every single day. Clearly there exists a lot of stories which feature good, genuine people doing really great things that are making a difference in people’s lives.
