There many examples of the powerful love between a mother and her child, but this one of the 98-Year-Old Mother and her 80-Year-Old Son will really impress everyone.
This story shows that no matter their age, the bond between mother and son is always perfectly fine.
Ada Keating and her husband Harry had four kids – Tom, Barbara, Margi, and Janet. The last work of Tom before his retirement was as a painter and decorator at HE Simm building services on Prescot Road. In order to get more support, Tom became a resident at Moss View in Huyton, in 2016.
Ada, who has 98 years has moved into a Liverpool care home – to look after her 80-year-old son. They are originally from Wavertree, and have shared a special relationship as Tom never married and has always lived with Ada.
They are now inseparable and enjoy spending time together. Most of the time they are spending in playing games and watching TV. Ada was an auxiliary nurse.
Now, while she is taking care of Tom, she loves going to his room every night to say goodnight. Tom is happy too because he has his mom that still looks after him after so many years.
She is, also, telling him to come down for breakfast, while he’ll look for her to see when she’s coming back when she goes out to the hairdressers.
When Tom meets his mom he’ll come to her with his arms outstretched and give her a big hug. Tom said:
“She’s very good at looking after me. Sometimes she’ll say ‘Behave yourself!’”
The members of the family, including Ada’s granddaughter Debi Higham, are regular visitors to the care home on Page Moss Lane. They express their happiness by seeing Ada and Tom together again.
Debi said: “There’s no way parting them! It’s reassuring for us that they’re both getting looked after 24/7.”
According to care home manager Philip Daniels, this story is very touching, and that close relationship between Tom and Ada is amazing, so they are really pleased to be able to accommodate both of their needs.
He added that this example of seeing mothers and their children together is very rare in the same care home and the personnel certainly want to make their time together as special as possible.
He said: “They are inseparable.”
This powerful bond between a caring mother and a loving son is very touching and proves that mom never stops being a mom!
