The Coronavirus is spreading globally, and is a very real danger. While most people are alarmed and doing what they can to avoid getting contaminated with the virus, others take time to find some lightness and humor in this dire situation. Lockdowns and social distancing have been mandated in most places, yet some refuse to heed the call to stay at home. Of course those who risk their health to go out to buy groceries, or get money from ATMs or banks is understandable. We all have to survive. Be that as it is, some people find unique and sometimes puzzling ways to avoid quarantine restrictions.
In one neighborhood in the UK, some residents noticed an astonishing sight. One of their neighbors was making his way down the street, dressed as a bush. Neighbors Madeline Mai-Davies and Nicholas Murray recorded this weird occurrence and posted it on the internet. The pair posted two different videos, which quickly gained millions of views. The “bush” man was covered from head to toe with fake leaves, carefully moving down the street, hiding behind trash bins, posing as a bush in open areas, and even rolling across a road as if scripted in a movie. But it seems it was all a prank, with no covert motive except to purchase some groceries.

Murray later said, “Looking back, I didn’t expect the video to go that viral and get 16.5 million views. Whilst in this difficult time we want to bring smiles, laughs and hope.” Mai-Davies added, “I was overwhelmed with the support and following that came from it.” It appears that there are many out there who need to have lighter moments in these dark and gloomy times. Sometimes all we need is a little laughter to help us survive a crisis. The UK has been badly hit, and it seems it may get worse. All we can do is do our share to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and pray that it will disappear soon.
