The intelligence of marine life is usually misattributed to existing only in a few species, when more recent studies are showing that fish in general may be smarter than we give them credit for!
If you want an example of that you need to look no further than the 25-year-long relationship of Arakawa and Yoriko. For a quarter of a century these two have been meeting underwater at a torri shrine in Japan’s Tateyama Bay, and it doesn’t look like they can be separated! It’s crazy how much information about life underwater that we still don’t know, but hopefully with more stories like this emerging we can get more studies done!
