Rafael Del Col, from Maringá in Brazil, is just 20 years old when he meets the 17-year-old Tatiane. From the first moment, the two couldn’t be separated. A wedding and a daughter make their lives perfect. But in 2013, 10 years later, the worst thing imaginable happens: at just 27, the young mother and wife dies in a tragic car accident. Rafael begins to raise the 2-year-old daughter own his own.
Rafael has never forgotten the love of his life. To honor her memory, he thus has a very special idea. In 2009, one week before their wedding the two did a photoshoot together, The widower wants to recreate these pictures detail by detail. And Tatiane’s place is to be taken by none other than their daughter Raisa!
The now 4 Raisa even wears the same outfits as her deceased mother in the pictures - and even the original shoes and jewelry - to the photoshoot.
The father-daughter-duo pose in the exact same manner as Rafael and Tatiane did in the originals. The result is legendary!
On his blog, where the widower writes about his experiences as a single father, Rafael publishes the photos. “I hope that this project makes clear that we are still living with this pain and longing,” he writes. “But we are doing well. We are happy.”
What an extraordinary idea! So is the memory of the deceased wife and mother kept alive. If Rafael’s story also touched you deeply, then SHARE these special stories with everyone that you know!
